The big new thing is Metallica's new album "Death Magnetic"
(which I bought on sale today at Fry's for $8.99. NIce!).
In a way, Metallica made history by releasing their album simultaneously on CD and as DLC (downloadable content) for Guitar Hero III. The DLC is also forward-compatible with Guitar Hero World Tour, coming out this Fall. To be honest, I really like this album, and it was a great experience to be working on the video game content before the final mixes were even finished. I've worked with isolated Metallica tracks before, but never on unreleased new material. I think this is Metallica's best album since the '80s. It's nice to hear them write and play like this again. |

August

Well, we're wrapping up work
on Guitar Hero 3 - it's been a total blast working on this game,
and I'm looking forward to working on downloadable content for GH3, and future
Guitar Hero releases!!
I really had a
great time working on GH3! I should give props to the great people I worked
with at Neversoft - like
the other MIDI Designers on the team, David Stowater, Geoff Inkel, Brian Marvin,
and Chris Vance, as well as the
newest member of the team, Kyle Johnson.
I'd also like to
give props to the entire Production staff, specifically Lead Designer Alan
Flores and Randy Guillote.
Thanks also to Producers Chris Parise, Scott Pease, and Aaron Habibipour.
I think Guitar Hero 3 is going to rock everybody's world, and GH4 will be even better than that!!

- Started
work on the video game
Guitar Hero 3 for Neversoft/Red Octane/Activision. Predictably,
it's a really fun job! Most of my work on the game involves MIDI design, specifically
placement of the notes played
in the game, as well as animation commands for onstage characters.

and put
my own
album
on the back burner. In the meantime, I've recorded more original electronic
music, which I'll
post on my music
